YOUTH CLUB
CONSULTING
It is essential to a youth player’s experience and development that
the athletic component of training in sport is maximized. In order
to accomplish this goal, fitness training must be specific to the
players’ gender, age, and athletic ability.
CFT&C takes a 5-facet approach to youth fitness training:
1. INCREASE PLAYERS INJURY RESISTANCE AND RESILIENCY
2. INCREASE THE QUALITY OF THE PLAYERS’ EXPERIENCE
3. INCREASE THE PLAYERS ATHLETIC ABILITIES
4. INCREASE THE PLAYERS’ FITNESS LEVELS
5. INCREASE THE PLAYERS’ CONTRIBUTION TO THE GAME
The CFT&C methodology is a step-wise progression of planning. It
begins with the long-term athletic development of the players and is
completed on an individual session basis:
• Step 1: Create a long-term plan for maximizing fitness and
athletic development.
• Step 2: Create a cohesive training program to suit the yearly and
seasonal training calendar of each age group.
• Step 3: Create a fitness plan which is specific to the players’
age, gender and athletic ability.
• Step 4: Develop training methodologies and modalities in a manner
to suit the club’s structure, facilities, philosophy and long-term
goals.
• Step 5: Implement fitness training sessions in a progressive
manner leading to an increase in the quality of the players’
training experience, athletic abilities and fitness levels.
